Yet human actions are damaging them at unprecedented rates: plastic waste floods oceans entangling or poisoning marine life; overfishing depletes fish stocks disrupting ecological balance; climate change causes acidification and rising temperatures threatening delicate ecosystems like coral reefs. These damages aren&#8217;t distant\u2014they affect global health which ultimately impacts us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>World Oceans Day exists to remind us of these issues while fostering deep connections with oceans urging their protection urgently. The UN established this day promoting themes like &#8220;Our Oceans, Our Responsibility&#8221; (2009) emphasizing our bond with oceans &amp; duties towards them.
